Started to learn russian at about the same time I started making cut&paste of sounds as music. I'm not certain where the music is going, but my russian hasn't yet improved. All "vol.1" tracks recorded & composed during the first year of the electro-acoustic composition class at the Conservatoire Pierre Barbizet of Marseille. 2021-2022.

Listening in stereo and with headphones is probably better...

(1-2-3) "Rudero" & "Rovina" are two stereo tracks to be played either separately or together. They're each words for "ruins" taken from the italian language. One is mundane, the other one amazing but I'm not certain which. Exercice in "musique concrète" with things taken from their purpose, or from the bins, to be made into musical objects. As everything is falling appart, we might as well directly build ruins.

(4) "Étude pour bicyclette" is about taking the musicality produced by a bike ride as the basis for a track. All sounds extracted from "playing" à bicycle, and very much inspired by the "Auto Re-Vision" from the old Crimethinc. film series.

(5) "Étude houblonnée" is a touring band joke taken to its logical conclusion. "tuning up the beer bottles" last spring ended up doing the same in front a static microphone, to be used as the sound source for a short track.

(6) "La carte deviens le territoire" is a live quadriphonic piece to be played by two people tearing up their music sheets as they went. It was played in the module of the Groupe de Musique Expérimentale de Marseille in June 16th but not recorded. I was made aware of the typo after I printed them out... I'll mail you music sheets if you want to play it for yourself.

(7) "Un train passe" is an extract of field recording made in la Friche de la Belle de Mai in Marseille.

(8) "Faire au lieu de se borner à dire" is a manipulated reading of a passage from "La soi-disant utopie du centre Beaubourg".

(9) "Typewriting phase (I)" is a first attempt at dephasing a sequence of typewriter, likely calling for one with better results.
